Second Saturdays in New Hope

This month - the Gallery
“Guided Walking Tour”

Saturday August 9th ~ 6 to 9PM

SECOND SATURDAY VISITORS TAKE A WALK THRU
NEW HOPE ON AUGUST 9

This coming Second Saturday, August 9th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., New Hope offers three Guided Gallery Walking Tours. These leisurely walking tours are free and open to the public. Starting at the courtyard of the New Hope Visitors Center on the corner of So. Main & W. Mechanic Streets, local guides will lead you around town as they recount stories, history and fun facts about New Hope.

The first tour, led by Lisa from Victoriana Lady will leave at 6:00 p.m. Lisa will lead the tour dressed in full Victorian Mourning Garb and will give listeners a “period” look of New Hope. The second tour led by Jim Wentzel will leave at 7:00 p.m. and will feature tales and legends of New Hope as well as a brief history of each gallery. The third tour, at 8:00 p.m. is geared towards (but not limited to) gay and lesbian art lovers and will be led by Louis Licitra, President of The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce. Accordingly, Louis will give slightly slanted history of the town.

All three tours offer approximately 10-15 minutes at each gallery where the gallery owners will introduce you to art by local, national, international artist - each gallery having it’s own specialty and style.

Come and join us! Enjoy the art, have a snack and a sip while strolling through town. It will be a special night!

Second Saturdays - New Hope
Over 30 fine art galleries, arts and crafts galleries and specialty shops stay open until 9:00 p.m. for the monthly Second Saturdays event in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Visitors are invited to enjoy free hors d’oevres, special demonstrations, exhibitions and entertainment throughout town.
A walking map highlighting Second Saturdays participants is available (click here to download).
For locals, Second Saturdays is a great excuse to have a ‘date night’ in their own backyard. “Take your time perusing the galleries and shops, and enjoy a complimentary beverage here and there, before heading over to one of the many restaurants and bars in town,” suggests Louis Licitra, President of the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce.
For visitors to New Hope, Second Saturdays introduces the artistic heritage and lively atmosphere of this scenic, riverside community through special themed events, gallery openings, musical guests and extended hours. All are welcome to experience why AmericanStyle Magazine readers routinely rank New Hope as one of the top 25 arts destinations (small cities and towns category) in the United States.
